What Does Petco Do With Unsold Animals

Does anybody know what happens to those unsold animals at pet stores?

As these animals get older, information technology'south more difficult for them to be sold; hence the occasional sales and then on. But how nigh those that are not sold later on a long time or those that fall ill or those injured?? Will they really be frozen to expiry like the reports at the PETA website? :ashamed:

I am not quite sure what happend to some of those poor animals after what I heard about Petco. Just I do know that older cats & dogs get shipped to other stores to endeavour and become sold or to shelters as far every bit I know. Equally for hamsters, I am sure they stay at that place until they are sold or shipped to breeders. Same with rabbits and ginuea piggies.

:hmmm: I couldn't answer for all the pet shops but I do know this pet store owner, keeps all her "unsold" hamsters as her own pet... And some pet shops volition merely giveaway those anile or injured hams to ppl who are interested in keeping them...

I think information technology's terrible that they would simply leave animal in such a iny cage forever. Specially hamsters! Would if they get-go to fight?
I went to Petco to become my hammies. After I purchased them, I went to await at a bird on display, (becuase their cool) and I saw these cute black hamsters! One with a picayune white spot by information technology'south eye. Not sure why. A few months later, I went dorsum to go some new bedding, and the same verbal blackness hamster was there! I discover that hateful! And they same exact bird was in that location too. >:( >:(
Pet stores should similar possibly like lower the prices of hamsters, so people buy them, then their not stuck in a tiny cage forever! >:(
